Freehand Machine Embroidery Workshop Saturday 10th June

Good morning,

Well the big day has come and gone again and I taught another 5 students the wonderful art of freehand machine embroidery.

The group was so enthusiastic to learn and get creative with their machines, Some having never tried machine embroidery before really embraced it and broke away from the straight line sewing!

From initialy mastering their machines without feed dogs, to adding applique to their work the group did brilliantly.

If you would like to spend a few hours learning a new skill and meeting a lovely, creative group of people keep your eyes peeled on the workshop page for when new dates new added.

Freehand machine Embroidery Workshop...

Good morning,

Next weekend on Saturday 10th June I am running another Freehand machine embroidery workshop over at New College in Swindon and there's still a couple of places available

In the 4 hour class you will learn how to hoop up your fabric and set your machine up ready to create wonderfully wobbly lines. We'll then get to grips with using your machine without feed dogs,'drawing' with your machine and adding splashes of colour with fabrics.

By the end of the class you'll have created your very own framed card to take away and a selected of sample pieces.

Here's what my last students said about the freehand machine embroidery workshop...

'Absolutely brilliant course... by a relaxed, cheerful and encouraging tutor. Best course I have attended at New college'- Rachel

'Meg was a fabulous tutor and I'll be recommending this course to others' - Jo

'Excellent course 4 hours seemed short.. it was excellent' -Judy

So what are you waiting for? If you'd like more information please send me an email to

The course costs £45 and is ideal if you're confident with your sewing machine.

Look forward to seeing you next weekend

Workshop: Saturday 11th February

Well hello there,

How have you been?

Yesterday I taught my FIRST ever freehand machine embroidery workshop to 8 students at New College in Swindon. I can't tell you how nervous I was, having never really taught 1 person let alone 8! But let me tell you, I had the best time.

The 8 ladies on the course were so lovely and enthusiastic that I quickly felt settled and excited to share with them the wonderful medium of freehand machine embroidery.

Their work was fantastic, from initially getting used to the machine without feed dogs to adding patterned fabric to their stitches, they did brilliantly. Such a creative, friendly group.

Needless to say, I can't wait to do the next one. Keep an eye on my workshop page for more information.

Happy New Year

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

I thought I'd do a post rounding up the highlights of last year and what a year it was for my little business...

It started off with getting my first stockist in the Merchant's House in Marlborough

Next the wonderful Emporium Art Gallery in Lichfield exhibited a collection of my Lichfield Stitches and cards...

I was also delighted to be approached by Country living to have a little ad in their mag...

And of course the whole year was filled with you lovely lot ordering house and venue portraits from me....

The thought that my work was part of your Christmas days just makes me beam from ear to ear. So THANK YOU for all your orders and support in 2016 it really means a lot and here is to an even bigger and better 2017!

Happy New year Everyone
